Carlisle United Football Club are delighted to announce that defender Hayden Atkinson has signed his first professional contract at Brunton Park.
Atkinson, 17, has penned a deal until 2027 after catching the eye of many in pre-season with a string of excellent performances in the heart of defence.
Born in West Cumbria, Hayden has been with the Blues since under-10 level and has been a regular standout in the youth team in recent years.
Academy Manager, Steven Rudd said: “We are absolutely delighted for Hayden — this contract is a well-deserved reward for the consistent hard work and high-level performances he delivers every single day.
"His dedication, both on and off the pitch, has been outstanding and is a true credit to himself and his family. He embodies the professionalism and commitment we want to see in all our young players.

"Thank you to Hayden’s family and all of our Academy staff who have supported and guided him throughout his journey so far.
"His achievement should serve as real inspiration for the rest of our Academy players and is proof that there is a clear pathway to the first team.
"Congratulations to Hayden — we are all excited to see what lies ahead for him.”
Head of Football Operations, Marc Tierney added: "We are delighted to reward Hayden - a member of our Academy - with a professional contract.
