JACK ELLIS EXTENDS HIS STAY AT BRUNTON PARK

.

Carlisle United are delighted to announce that Jack Ellis has signed a one-year contract extension with an option of a further year, initially extending his stay at Brunton Park until the summer of 2027.

A product of the United Academy, the 22-year-old has made 83 appearances since making his debut against Stevenage at the end of the 2021/22 season.

Ellis scored his first senior goal for the club against Crewe Alexandra in January and has added another to his total this season, as well as picking up six assists across his Blues career.

He has become a key part of Mark Hughes’ squad during the current campaign, showing impressive versatility to cover across the backline and in midfield.

After signing a new deal at Brunton Park, Jack said: “It's really nice obviously being here for a long time now and to continue the journey. I'm really looking forward to the next couple of years.

"My family and my girlfriend love coming to the games; it's a good place to be right now, and if we can have a good season together and get promoted, that would top it off.”

Head Coach, Mark Hughes said: “Jack is an outstanding professional with a genuinely good character, the type of person who lifts standards around the training ground. His determination to succeed is evident every day; he approaches every session with focus and real hunger to improve.

"One of his biggest assets is his versatility. He’s comfortable playing in multiple positions, which gives the team and myself valuable flexibility and allows us to adapt tactically without hesitation.

"He’s also a very popular member of the squad. The lads respect him, and he contributes positively to the group dynamic. He’s the sort of player every manager appreciates, dependable both on and off the pitch. I’m delighted that he has further committed himself to the club."

Head of Football Operations, Marc Tierney added: “Jack is a product of our Academy system and shows every young player here what can be achieved at this football club.

“His hard work, dedication, and ambition have impressed Mark and the football staff, and he is rightly rewarded with an extended deal. Players such as Jack are essential to the club’s drive to be sustainable, and his versatility is a real asset.

“He has the potential to grow alongside the club as we continue to strive for success. I’m delighted he has chosen to extend his time with the club that first gave him his opportunity.”
