This afternoon, we spoke to Head of Football Operations, Marc Tierney.
Speaking to CUTV, firstly on his opening month at the club, he said: "It's been brilliant. I've met lots of good people behind-the-scenes. Obviously the players aren't back just yet, but [that's] only around the corner they'll be coming back for pre-season testing and it's just been getting to know everybody.
"I've met lots of good people and I'm looking forward to the start of the season with them.
"My main job is obviously just getting to know people really. Obviously meeting with the manager and his staff, just getting to know what they want and need within the squad.
"Across recruitment there has been a change, so we've just been delving into that and who's there and who's been and gone and what we've missed and how we might get better in certain areas.
"It'll be across all the departments as well, medical, obviously the Academy, I've met with Steven Rudd and we'll be going over that in due course. Just getting to know everyone really and getting up to speed with everything all across different departments of the football club."
It was recently confirmed that Goalkeeper Coach, Jack Cudworth, will remain with the club, speaking on him, Marc said: "I think Jack is not only a really good Goalkeeper Coach, but he's also a good person, good character, someone who I spoke at length with Mark Hughes and with Glyn and they were keen to keep him."
Jamie Devitt will be returning to work within the Academy following a period with the first team at the back end of last season.
"He obviously stepped up, did really well. Mark raved reviews about Dev and how he did. So it's part of his learning curve as a coach. He'll now go back to the Academy, which is also obviously another important part of the club that I'm obviously looking to improve on wherever we can.
"It's a real good addition that we keep hold of Dev in that capacity. He's done really well."
Regan Linney became United's first addition of the summer, making the same switch Marc made from Altrincham to the Blues.
"I think everyone knows he was probably the hottest property in the league. Thankfully the owners backed us and we were able to be very reactive really to get that one over the line. It's obviously a huge coup for the football club to get someone that's not only scored so many goals at the level, but he's got real hunger and desire to do well and go on another level.
"I think that really aligns with the football club and the vision of where we want to be.So it's not just about getting good players in, it's also about getting the right characters as Regan is one, who I obviously know first-hand, but I know the football club have had their eye on him for a while.
"We beat league competition, which I suppose just shows us the size of us as a club and as a pull. So really happy to get that one over the line."
Earlier this week, Morgan Feeney became the Cumbrians' second signing of the summer, speaking on him, he said: "I think that was a real statement piece at the other end of the pitch for us.
"Once we spoke with Mark and worked with the recruitment team, we identified Morgan. Obviously, he's known to everyone here at the football club. Leader, captain, winner, played at high level, and he wants to get back there and he wants to do it with Carlisle. And again, [there was] League One interest in him, but he wanted to come back.
"I think he sees it as a great opportunity, a club with vision again, a club that can push on and improve, and we see him as someone that can help lead us there, so really happy to get Morgan in. He's a great character again, really fits the bill and really aligns with the football club's ethos, and a great addition, really happy to get that one done."
Talking on Martin Foyle's addition as Head of Recruitment, Marc said: "We went through a number of candidates, and Martin stood out, really, in terms of the time he's done the job, his knowledge. He's obviously been a player himself and a manager, but his knowledge is second to none, really.
"Again, character references, [he's a] hugely respected man in the game, will work really well, I think, both with Glyn and Mark Hughes, and he's a great addition to the recruitment team.
"He's already been in the building, working closely with Jacob Blain, who's worked really well, and I think that hopefully will be a great mix there of age and youth, but he's an experienced operator at the level.
"It was another positive for me that he wanted to come to our football club, he wanted to join the vision that we have for the football club, wanted to speak with Mark Hughes right away and get cracking on what we need.
"He's the best at what he does, and I'm glad to get him in the building."
Speaking on the transfer process moving forward, he said: "We have a seven-step process, and that's what we've followed. We've been able to follow it with Regan Linney and with Morgan Feeney.
"We have had to be reactive in this window, in this space so far, but we've managed to do that quickly, but we've not missed out on any of the processes and protocols that are needed to make sure it's the right person for the job.
"I think as the fan base have reacted to, they can see that both in those instances with Regan and with Morgan, it's the right character and it's the right connection with the fan base that is important, as well as their ability as a player."
Last week, Will Patching joined Northern Irish side Coleraine FC, speaking on that move, he said: "I think Will needs to go and get minutes and play games.
"When we spoke with Coleraine, they were eager to get it done, which shows how well he's done over in Ireland previously.
"I'm sure he'll get his fitness, get his game time. We've obviously got a clause, we can bring him back should we need him, and I think he's just one of those situations that you have in football. Sometimes you go to a club, don't get the minutes you need, and I think that might kick-start his career again, so we wish him all the best.
"I spoke to him on the phone before he went, made sure that he's happy to understand the reasoning, and he'll go and get some minutes there, and obviously it frees up a space in the meantime."
Speaking on further incomings and outgoings, Marc stated: "There's always interest, there's always phone calls to be had, if not necessarily bids or if it doesn't get that close, but it's something that I'll be keeping a close eye on, and obviously always in discussions with agents and with other clubs, and as I speak to Mark pretty much on a daily basis, just keeping contact over squad planning and what we think we need.
"We'll just be continuing those calls throughout the season really, obviously with the windows being different than it is in the EFL. It's just constantly being aware of who's available and the fitness of our squad, and I think that's an area we're keen to push on again with the likes of Greg Stebbings and Sophie [Birnie] in the building.
"We always keep a close eye on certain areas, and for the right reasons, if it's the right move, I'm sure that it'll be something that myself and Mark can take to the board and go through the due process, but as it stands, we also recognise that we'll get a lift off some of the people that are in the squad who maybe haven't hit the heights that they can, and I think that's why a real good pre-season, real good fitness drive, standard drive will bring the best out in everyone in the squad for this season.
Finally, looking ahead to pre-season, he said: "[I"m] Hugely excited, it's a time you probably look on with a bit of trepidation back when I was playing, but I think the lads now, they keep themselves in shape over the summer, they get their programme to do by Greg, and Greg's been keeping a real tight leash on them to make sure they're fit to make sure they hit the ground running, we know it's a huge season for the club, and we need to get the foundations in for the season.
"That starts with fitness and the non-negotiables that Mark and Glyn are keen to drive home, and that's what we want as a football club, to be the fittest and strongest team in the league."
