Ryan Galvin believes Carlisle United have shown they can compete with anyone in the Enterprise National League as they prepare to travel to Eastleigh on Saturday.
Galvin has featured in several positions during the opening weeks of the season, including left-sided centre-half and left wing-back, and has enjoyed the freedom the system gives him to get forward.
He said: "I've enjoyed it a lot, to be fair; I'm still learning a lot too because I've never really played like a left-side centre-half.
"So it is enjoyable because you still get the freedom to go forward, and I feel like that's probably one of my better strengths as a player.
"And then left wing-back, I've played that quite a few times, but it's all really enjoyable because it's all about being aggressive and getting forward with the ball. We're not sitting off anybody."
The defender admits the results have not quite matched the performances so far, with Tuesday night's draw against Forest Green Rovers another game where United felt they could have taken all three points.
"I'd say so far it's probably not been good enough for results points-wise, but performance-wise I feel like we've definitely performed well. We just need to start picking up more wins.
"I definitely think we should have won. They were playing for a draw, and you could tell that in the game.
"I felt like when you're on the pitch, they were celebrating just getting a draw as we were disappointed and gutted, not to win."
Galvin knows Eastleigh will offer a different challenge, with the home side expected to provide a physical test, but the 25-year-old is confident United should not be intimidated by any opponent.
"It'll be a tough, tough game. They're quite a physical side. I know they like to go direct, so we've just got to win our battles and then hopefully win the game.
"We've played the so-called big teams in the league, and I feel like we've given them all a good game. Probably deserve to come out with more than what we have, points-wise.
"So I don't think there's anyone we should fear in this league ever, no matter what. I don't really care who we play as long as we win. We've got no one to fear."
