ADAM DESBOIS: "WE'VE GOT THAT MOMENTUM NOW."

.

Carlisle United goalkeeper Adam Desbois believes the Blues are finding their rhythm as they look to extend their unbeaten run against Harrogate Town on Wednesday night.

United have avoided defeat in their last five games and have won their last three away fixtures, with Desbois pleased with the progress made as the squad continues to settle into the season.

The goalkeeper believes the team are becoming more organised defensively and are creating plenty of opportunities, with consistency now key to maintaining their momentum.

He said: "I think there's a belief now. There was always a belief, there's always a belief, but I think with a new group, a new environment, a lot of people in a new environment, it's understanding your environment.

"I think everyone's getting a bit settled in home games, away games, travelling, getting used to travel again, getting used to the Saturday, Tuesday, getting used to the training, match days, minus ones. People are getting used to it so yeah, I think we're settling in, we've got that momentum now.

"We could lose a game, we could win a draw game, it's going to happen. I think the main thing is we just make sure we look to focus on performing well individually and then as a team."

Desbois has also spoken about the importance of the team's defensive structure and how his distribution can help United implement their approach in possession.

The stopper believes the Blues are becoming increasingly comfortable with their style of play and must continue to focus on their performances rather than outside opinion.

"I'm not just kicking the balls because people think because I can kick it far; I'm just kicking them everywhere.

"That's not how it is.

"I'm distributing the ball to what we want to do as a team currently to make sure that we can, number one, get results, because it's a results business and maybe at the start of the season we weren't as clear on that as what we are now."

Attention now turns to a busy week, with Wednesday's home fixture against Harrogate followed by Saturday's trip to Altrincham.

Desbois believes the upcoming games will provide a good test of the squad's progress but insists the focus must remain on delivering the right performances.

"I think we're excited. I think we're ready to go out on the pitch; we're starting to get that edge, the bit of fight and grit that you need sometimes, big tackles, big moments, putting your name on things, getting your body in the way.

"I think we're ready to rise to the test, but yeah.

"Just focus on yourself, focus on the moments and yeah."
