Carlisle United’s history will take centre stage this Saturday as fans are encouraged to wear their favourite retro shirts for the visit of Southend United
Organised with the support of Carlisle United Supporters’ Trust, Retro Shirt Day returns to Brunton Park on Saturday 12 September, giving supporters the chance to celebrate Carlisle United’s history and show off some classic kits from years gone by.
The day will feature a special shirt display, with the Carlisle United Heritage Group bringing a selection of shirts from its fantastic collection to the CUST gazebo in the Northern Competitions Fan Zone for supporters to view.
The gazebo will be open from 3:30pm until 5pm, with the Heritage Group’s display providing fans with an opportunity to take a trip down memory lane before kick-off.
And, of course, supporters are encouraged to get involved themselves by wearing their favourite Carlisle United retro shirt to the game.
There will also be a chance for some of the best-dressed fans to take part in Big Shot at half-time, with CUST purchasing places for supporters wearing some of the best and most classic shirts on display.
Whether it’s a shirt from a promotion-winning side, a favourite player’s number, a much-loved design from your childhood or simply a kit that brings back great memories, we want to see them all at Brunton Park.
So, if you’ve got a classic Carlisle United shirt tucked away in the wardrobe, Saturday is the perfect time to get it back out.
Come along, celebrate the history of the Blues and show us your retro colours as Carlisle United take on the Shrimpers.
To continue the celebration of Carlisle United’s history throughout the 2026/27 campaign, our Matchday Programme will feature a selection of classic kit designs from years gone by on its front cover.
The latest edition, available to purchase around Brunton Park on Saturday and Tuesday, looks back at our promotion-winning campaign in 2022/23 and the memorable kit worn at Wembley against Stockport County.
