Carlisle United were held to a 2-2 draw with Southend United at Brunton Park.
Georgie Kelly struck twice, but it was not enough for victory, with Leon Parillon and Kyle McAdam finding the net for the Shrimpers.
Head Coach Rob Elliot made two changes from last Saturday's defeat at Boreham Wood, bringing in Leo Duru and Teddy Jenks for Ryan Galvin and Stephen Wearne.
Kelly fired the Blues into a fast start after Brad Nicholson found David Ajiboye, who drove down the left channel and squared to the Irish striker to tap home.
The Cumbrians were relentless, with Ajiboye again finding Kelly, who headed over the crossbar.
Southend looked to respond with Desbois racing out to block Ryan Colclough's effort from inside the penalty area before Oli Coker dragged a shot wide.
Joe Duncan had a nervous moment for visitors, passing straight to Teddy Jenks in his own penalty area; he slid the ball to Ajiboye, who shot straight at the Shrimpers stopper.
A neatly worked move saw the ball find its way to Josh Williams to tee up Ajiboye on the edge of the box, but his shot was blocked.
On the stroke of half-time, Miguel Azeez took a lovely pass from Jack Ellis on his chest before cutting in and firing a strike over the bar.
A one-two between Harvey Bunker and Williams allowed the former to shoot on goal, but Duncan was quickly down to block the effort.
HALF-TIME: Carlisle United 1-0 Southend United
Ellis gave Ajiboye a great opportunity to double the Blues' lead, slipping him through on goal, but a Southend defender was quick to block the shot.
Kelly should have had his second when Jenks found him free in the penalty area, but his effort was weak.
Sam Austin attempted to make an impact off the bench for the visitors flying forward, but his shot was over the bar.
Junior Luamba was making inroads from the left flank, and he powered towards goal but his strike was blocked.
The Shrimpers equalised in the 83rd minute through Parillon, who fired home after some loose play in the United defence.
And they thought they had a winning goal in the 92nd minute through McAdam, who found the top corner from range.
But Kelly made sure that the Cumbrians would come away with a point with a swooping finish into the bottom corner in the 96th minute, after a deft header from captain Morgan Feeney found him in space in the Southend penalty area.
