OPPOSITION PLAYER TO WATCH
Reading captain, Lewis Wing, has been a consistent performer over several seasons for the Royals.
The 30-year-old central midfielder has reached double figures in goals over both of his campaigns at the Berkshire-based side.
Having plied his trade in non-league in the early part of his career, Wing’s performances earned him a move to Middlesbrough. Despite establishing himself as a regular in the Boro team in the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons, the centre-midfielder was sent on loan to Rotherham and Sheffield Wednesday before moving permanently to Wycombe Wanderers in January 2022.
Wing then swapped Buckinghamshire for Berkshire in the summer of 2022 and has been pivotal for the Royals ever since.
Wing has started the current League One season in fine form, contributing three goals and three assists in his 15 appearances so far this campaign.
United will have to keep the Royals captain quiet if they are to progress to the next round on Saturday afternoon.
