Before our trip to Braintree Town, we spoke to defender Jack Ellis.
Speaking to CUTV, he discussed momentum, teamwork and the importance of the final stretch.
Here is everything we learnt:
1. An impressive victory on Tuesday night
“A good start. They're (FC Halifax Town a very good side, they've got some very good players, so it was important we approached it in the right way, and I thought we played really well.
"I thought we controlled the game in the first half, especially, then got ourselves in front and saw the game out really well.”
2. Keeping the momentum
“We need to have that momentum, especially going into these last six games now.
"We want to finish as strong as possible, so yeah, we just need to keep ticking these wins off and then see what happens.”
3. Staying focused
“I think that's what we need, especially now going into these final games.
"We need everyone to be fully engaged and ready to do their part for the team. So, yeah, it was just come in and just do a job.”
4. Plaudits to Regan Linney
“He's (Regan Linney) a really good guy and an amazing footballer, and his eye for goals is so good.
"He’s had a great season, and hopefully he can finish the season strong as well.”
5. The emergence of Hayden Atkinson
“We want to get a lot of academy lads coming through.
"He's (Hayden Atkinson) a really good lad, a fantastic footballer as well. So, yeah, he's gonna go on and have a good career. He's a good lad, and he's done so well so far.”
6. What it takes to get promoted
“I think you need a well-connected group.
"You need good people as well as good players. You've just got to keep taking it game by game.
"It's looking like it's probably going to be a play-off, so we've just got to make sure we're in the best possible condition to go into those games feeling positive and just go in to get the win.”
7. Bouncing back
“Yeah, it'd be amazing, especially to get them back into the Football League. I think it's so important for the club.
"It's such a massive club, and the fans are being great, and if we can get them back into the league next season, then it'll be amazing.”
8. Our earlier encounter with Braintree
“I can't really remember the game too much, but I do know that they'll definitely be up for it this weekend.
"They're scrapping for their lives, and they're desperate for points, so it's going to be no easy pushover.
"We've got to go there with the right intentions and do things right and make sure we get the win.”
