After signing for Carlisle United on a loan deal until the end of the season from Bristol City, we spoke to Ephraim Yeboah.
Speaking to CUTV, Yeboah discussed his pathway into the game, influences, loan experiences and his desire to make an impact at the Blues.
Here is everything we learnt:
1. Delighted to sign
“I'm delighted. I'm really excited to be here. I know the magnitude of the club, so I’m ready to get going.”
2. Move came quickly
“It was quite random to be honest. I had a game yesterday (Tuesday) and there must have been people watching.
"I’m glad I played well and impressed the right people.”
3. Right next step
“For me, it’s massive. This is the next step in my journey.
"I just want to play as much football as I can and show what I can do.”
4. First taste of Brunton Park
“I was really surprised by the fans and the atmosphere.
"They really took me aback when I came here before (with Doncaster Rovers).”
5. Learning from experience
“Playing under Mark Hughes is huge. He’s a striker, he knows the game and I want to learn as much as I can from him and the players.”
6. Driven by setbacks
“Not getting into the academy (Bristol City) at first was tough mentally, but it made me more driven.
"Setbacks don’t break me, they push me on.”
7. Footballing influences
“As a striker growing up, I looked up to Mario Balotelli and Lionel Messi.”
8. Valuable loan experiences
“My loan spells taught me a lot, especially the physical side of the game.
"Those experiences have shaped me as a player.”
9. Ready to contribute
“I want to bring energy, be direct and get forward. I’m here to help the team and contribute as much as I can.”
10. Clear ambition
“I want to score goals and help the team get promoted and back to where the club belongs.”
