EVERYTHING WE LEARNT FROM REGAN LINNEY: POST FC HALIFAX TOWN (A)

.

After his match-winning goal in a 1-0 win against FC Halifax Town, we spoke to attacker Regan Linney.

Speaking to CUTV, Linney reflected on a big away performance, reaching a personal milestone and the importance of momentum at this stage of the season.

Here is everything we learnt:

1. A big away win

“It's a big win. It's a tough place to go, especially with the conditions today and stuff, so the lads are buzzing in there and happy to get the three points.”

2. Doing the job in difficult conditions

“Away from home, it's always tough coming here and with the conditions as well, but we managed to work hard as a team and get the right result.”

3. Backing up recent success

“Exactly, we want to win every game, and we've managed to do that today, get another win, and I’ve managed to score as well.”

4. Taking the decisive moment

“I've just seen a bit of space and made the run and took the shot early. I think maybe the keeper should do a little bit better, but I’ve taken the shot early, and it’s gone in the bottom corner.”

5. A special milestone

“It was a special feeling to get my 20th goal of the season as well. I’m really happy, and hopefully there are many more to come.”

6. Celebrating with the fans

“I was happy to celebrate in front of the fans. It’s a special feeling scoring away from home like that.”

7. Thriving in big moments

“I just love playing for this club, love playing in front of the fans and give everything I can on the pitch.”

8. Momentum key at the business end

“It’s the business end of the season now, so hopefully we can keep picking up wins and go into the play-offs firing.”
