Carlisle United Football Club and Community Sports Trust held a collection for the Carlisle Foodbank before Saturday’s game against Truro City.
After hearing about the foodbank collection, the first team squad decided to come together to show their support and give back to the community, raising a substantial total that was used to purchase more requested items.
The numerous generous donations will go towards supporting those left fortunate in the local community during a difficult time for many.
Teresa Mulholland, EDI Lead for the Club and Community Sports Trust said: "As a football club rooted in our community, we believe in standing together during challenging times.
“Organising a foodbank collection is our way of giving back and supporting local families who may be struggling.
“Football is more than just the game on the pitch — it's about unity, compassion, and making a real difference where it matters most."
Defender Terell Thomas added: “When we saw there was a collection for the Carlisle Foodbank, we thought it was important as a squad to give back to the local community.
“We wanted to show our support for a crucial project and help those in need.”
