Carlisle United Community Sports Trust are delighted to name Billy Turner as our Premier League Community Captain for the 2025/26 season in recognition of his dedication and attitude to the Premier League Kicks programme.

Billy was presented with his Community Captain award by United goalkeeper, Gabe Breeze, as part of the Premier League's 'More Than A Game Campaign'.

‘More Than A Game’ showcases the Premier League’s long-standing commitment to supporting the community activity of clubs at all levels of the game, as well as investing in other areas, including the non-league system, grassroots facilities and women’s and girls’ football.

This year's campaign focuses on the 20th anniversary of the Premier League Kicks programme, a free weekly football and personal development session run nationwide by 93 club charities.

Since the launch of the programme, more than 600,000 young people have participated at over 5,000 venues across England and Wales. Sessions take place in some of the most under-served communities, supporting those who need it most.

Premier League Chief Executive, Richard Masters, said: “Premier League Kicks is our longest-standing community programme, and it has made a real difference to young people across the country. For 20 years it has helped change lives and we remain committed to supporting communities connected to clubs throughout the football pyramid."

In honour of the milestone, all 93 clubs have named their own Community Captain from their Premier League Kicks programmes.

Billy has received this year's Premier League Community Captain award for his unwavering commitment to the betterment of the young people of Carlisle. His warm nature and support have fostered a fun and inclusive environment at the sessions.

On receiving the award, Billy stated: "I'm very pleased to have won this award. It means a lot that my contributions and my work has been acknowledged. I hope to go further in this field [football coaching] and I'm just so thankful for receiving this award."
