Carlisle United picked up a brilliant 4-0 over Oldham Athletic at the Sheepmount
Braces from both Josh Wade and Reuben Towers proved to be the difference, as United made it three wins in a row.
The Blues started in dominant fashion, with Towers forcing a save from Harvey Hampson within two minutes.
The aforementioned Towers wouldn’t be denied for long however, when he finished from close range, after getting on the end of Wade’s ball into the box.
Wade nearly got a goal of his own soon after, when he robbed the ball off Hampson, but his finish didn’t have the necessary power to cross the line.
It was Towers again at the centre of the action, as he did brilliantly to beat multiple Oldham defenders, before smashing the ball off the crossbar.
Rhys MacBride came close to levelling the scoreline for the visitors in the closing stages of the first-half, but his goal-bound effort was superbly cleared off the line by Will Hatton.

The Latics came out of the traps quickly after the break and started the second-half in strong fashion.
Sam Worth had to pull off several top saves to keep United’s lead intact.
With 15 minutes left on the clock, Towers and Wade linked up well down the right-hand side, before the latter placed a brilliant finish into the bottom left corner.
Wade would get his second goal of the match 10 minutes later, with a cleverly clipped finish past Hampson – his 50th goal contribution of the season.
Towers would also get his second goal of the afternoon with an outrageous chip from a tight angle.
Less than a minute later, Towers would come agonisingly close to completing his hat-trick, but his effort cannoned off the crossbar.
