EVERYTHING WE LEARNT FROM MARK BIRCH: POST OLDHAM ATHLETIC (H)

.

Following a 4-0 victory over Oldham Athletic under-18s, we spoke to Lead Professional Development Phase Coach Mark Birch.

Speaking to CUTV, he discussed his delight at the result, Josh Wade’s fantastic season and Sam Worth’s heroics in goal.

Here is everything we learnt:

1. A good run of results

“We seem to have really hit our stride now after what had been a tricky period.

“It’s important to try and keep it going now.”

2. Braces for both Towers and Wade

“All of our attacking players were excellent today, especially those two.

“They were extremely clinical today, which was great to see.”

3. A brilliant goalkeeping performance from Sam Worth

“He didn’t have loads to do today, but when he was called into action, he was excellent.

“He pulled off quite a few top saves."

4. Keeping standards high

“We’ve got a big three games left to play, let’s see how high we can finish."

5. Looking forward to Morecambe on Tuesday

“Because the turnaround is so quick, it’s a real good chance for us to continue this strong run of form.

"We're looking forward to it."
