Carlisle United defeated League Two leaders Salford City 1-0 to progress in the Emirates FA Cup at Brunton Park.
David Ajiboye's first-half goal was the difference as the Blues showed their quality and confidence against a higher-tier opposition.
Head Coach Rob Elliot has made four changes, with Archie Mair, Toby Mullarkey, Ryan Galvin and Stephen Wearne coming into the side.
A swirling ball from Brad Nicholson on the left flank was met by Mullarkey, but his header glanced wide.
United continued to test the Ammies' backline with a Morgan Feeney flicking a header into Ajiboye's path, but his effort was blocked.
Wearne was next to deliver from wide, and his flighted cross was headed over by Feeney.
Regan Linney had the ball in the net in the 30th minute, latching onto Nicholson's through ball and finishing emphatically, but he was deemed to be offside.
A neat interchange between Ben Woodburn and Daniel Udoh on the edge of the Blues' penalty area saw the former strike but it was off target.
Referee Paul Marsden gave the visitors a penalty in the 36th minute, deciding that Nicholson had obstructed Adebola Oluwo at a corner.
Ryan Graydon stepped up, but Archie Mair got down low to his right to deny the Ammies' attacker.
United had the lead on the brink of half-time when Wearne's effort from the outside area deflected off Ajiboye past a helpless Lee Burge into the back of the net.
HALF-TIME: Carlisle United 1-0 Salford City
Wearne again popped up with an effort from the edge of the Salford penalty area, and Burge had to be at full stretch to push the low shot wide.
A deep cross from Leo Duru was met by Feeney, but his header was too high and drifted over the bar.
Luke Armstrong was unlucky not to mark his return to action with a goal, flicking Callum Camps' corner off target.
Salford substitute Brendan Wiredu poked a shot over late on as the Blues held on to get into the second round.
