Carlisle United are delighted to confirm the appointment of Tom Weal as Goalkeeper Coach and Toby Frost as Head of Performance.
Both were previously at MK Dons as part of Mike Williamson’s coaching staff.
Weal, 34, began his coaching career at Huddersfield Town where he spent two years before moving to Nottingham Forest.
In 2017 he joined Norwich City as an academy goalkeeper coach before being made head of academy goalkeeping just 18 months later.
He spent over four years at Carrow Road before making the move to Notts County where he spent a successful three seasons as head of goalkeeping.
He joined up with Mike Williamson at Stadium MK at the start of this season.
Frost, 27, graduated from the University of Birmingham before completing his master’s degree in strength and conditioning at Middlesex University London.
He gained experience with the FA as part of the England youth pathway, and has previously worked at London Broncos Rugby League and Leicester City FC.
He then joined MK Dons as first team strength and conditioning coach in August 2023.
Head coach Mike Williamson said: “Both Tom and Toby will add real energy and detail to the group of coaching staff we have here.
“I’ve worked with them both before, and they are massive assets as people as well as professionals.
“I’d also like to thank Glen Johnson for his work since I arrived at the club. He was extremely professional and the way he conducted himself was different class. This kind of thing is the hardest part of football but we’d all like to wish him well in the future.”
