Head Coach Rob Elliot praised his players' response after Carlisle United secured a 2-0 victory over AFC Fylde and recorded their first clean sheet of the season.
The Blues bounced back from Saturday's disappointment with an energetic and disciplined display at Mill Farm, earning all three points thanks to goals from Regan Linney and Jack Ellis.
Elliot was particularly pleased with his side's work without the ball and felt the players delivered everything that had been asked of them.
He said: "It was a good performance. The lads battled, and we knew how good Fylde are with the ball.
"I thought the lads were superb to a man. The endeavour, the running and the power were outstanding.
"Everything we asked for, we got, and it was a good reaction from Saturday."
The victory also brought United's first clean sheet of the campaign, something Elliot felt was thoroughly deserved after a committed defensive display.
He reserved special praise for goalkeeper Adam Desbois and captain Morgan Feeney, who both played key roles in keeping Fylde at bay.
"Adam's been absolutely superb. He's the best keeper in the league and probably the league above.
"He made a big save in the first half and just showed his qualities and the mentality he brings.
"Morgan's our captain, our leader, and cares so much about this club. I thought he was a brilliant leader tonight."
Elliot was also delighted to see Linney and Ellis on the scoresheet, with both players earning rewards for their hard work and commitment.
The Blues boss believes the performance must now become the standard as United look to build momentum in the weeks ahead.
"Regan (Linney) never stopped running tonight. He was absolutely brilliant and deserved his goal.
"Jack (Ellis) gives everything, and it was a fantastic finish from him. I can't single anyone out because everyone was superb.
"I don't want to get carried away, but I expect more performances like that because that's the standard this group is capable of producing."
