Head Coach Rob Elliot praised Carlisle United’s mentality and resilience after the Blues came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory against Solihull Moors.
United responded after falling behind to claim all three points, with Morgan Feeney and David Ajiboye scoring in the second half.
The victory also marked three consecutive away wins for the first time in four and a half years, with Elliot pleased with the way his side responded to the challenge.
He said: “If our mentality is right, the rest comes, and I think that's been questioned a few times, I think sometimes fairly as well, and I think that's the big challenge for me with this group is getting that mentality right all the time, dealing with those waves in games.
“I thought overall we dominated most of the game. I thought Solihull, they were good on the counter - they've got good threats, and they've got a good team.”
Elliot was particularly pleased with the impact of his substitutes, with Morgan Feeney and David Ajiboye both finding the net to complete the comeback.
"That's just Morgan all over, isn't it?
"I've honestly said he's one of the best captains I've experienced, whether it's as a manager or as a player; he's just very level-headed, he cares about this place immensely, but, you know, he's got the right character, right mentality.
"And, yeah, you know, he popped up with an important goal today to break that sort of deadlock and then after that, you know, we just kept pushing on to get the second and David as well, I thought David, when he came on, really lively."
Attention now turns to Wednesday’s fixture against Harrogate Town, with Altrincham to follow as United face another demanding week.
Elliot is encouraged by the progress being made but knows his side must continue to improve as they look to extend their unbeaten run.
"With this group, the more hurdles they come over, the better they get, and now we're getting the results with the performances, with the mentality, and we just need to keep getting better because we could have been miles better today, but the fact is we've won the game in terrible, terrible conditions.
"I'm really pleased with that mentality and resilience."
