Carlisle United are pleased to announce that Herdy will become the official half-time 'Play on the Pitch' Partner for the 2026/27 season.
Half-time 'Play on the Pitch' allows local youth grassroots teams to take to the Brunton Park surface at half-time for a match supported by Carlisle United Community Sports Trust coaches, creating memories to last a lifetime.
The fun and lovable character Herdy is the face of the popular Lake District-based lifestyle, gift and home brand created in 2007 by designers Spencer and Diane Hannah.
Inspired by the iconic Herdwick sheep that roam free on the high fells of the Lake District, the brand has a simple mission: to make customers smile through its quirky feel-good products.
The partnership brings together two much-loved Cumbrian brands, united by a shared passion for community, determination and inspiring the next generation.
Through its involvement with half-time 'Play on the Pitch', Herdy will help bring the joy of football to children, encouraging them to get active, have fun and embrace the positive values that sport can inspire.
Spencer and Diane Hannah, Herdy’s co-founders, said: "We wanted the themes of determination, resilience and community, which are embodied by Herdy, to inspire children and be a great fit with Carlisle United and ‘Play on the Pitch’.
"Herdy is all about making people smile, and we’re delighted to be working with Carlisle United to help bring that feel-good spirit to children and families. Football has such a powerful role to play in bringing communities together, and we’re excited to be part of that."
Jake Bryant, Commercial Sales Executive, added: "We’re really pleased to have Herdy involved with half-time Play on the Pitch this season.
"It is already one of the best parts of matchday, seeing young players get the chance to run out at Brunton Park in front of the crowd, and Herdy feels like a great business to have alongside that.
"They bring a bit of fun and personality to everything they do, which fits perfectly with what half-time Play on the Pitch is all about.
"It has been a real pleasure working with Spencer and Diane, and we’re looking forward to seeing the partnership come to life across the season."
