EVERYTHING WE LEARNT FROM GEORGIE KELLY: POST SOLIHULL MOORS (A)

.

After Carlisle United’s 3-3 draw away at Solihull Moors, we spoke to striker Georgie Kelly.

Speaking to CUTV, he discussed the disappointment of conceding late, mixed emotions after scoring a hat-trick, the team’s response during the game and the immediate focus on Wednesday night against York City.

Here is everything we learnt:

1. Late disappointment overshadowing the performance

“It's disappointing. It was a killer blow so late in the game. I feel like we should have done enough to get three points.”

2. Mixed emotions after a hat-trick

“It's not the same when you don't win the game. The mood's not great, so it's not as nice as it would have been.”

3. Frustration at not seeing the game out

“We've managed to see out plenty of results this season. Yeah, very frustrated, but as I say, we'll keep going.”

4. A fast start setting the tone

“I scored second or third minute, I think, so good start. I thought the first half we started very well.”

5. Positive reaction after falling behind

“We lost our bearings a little bit, then came out, and we did well to respond to go behind, so that was positive.”

6. Personal pride quickly set aside

“At least you get a match ball to remember it by, but you forget it pretty quickly.”

7. Immediate focus on a big midweek test

“Wednesday night is such a big game, so we will be raring to go.”

8. Mindset firmly on the next challenge

“Straight away, it's just on to the next.”

9. Appreciation for the travelling support

“Great support as always. Disappointed not to get the win.”
