Before the Blues take on Reading in the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday, we spoke to Carlisle United midfielder Chris Conn-Clarke.
Speaking to CUTV, he discussed settling into life at the club, memories in the cup and getting to know the fans.
Here is everything we learnt:
1. The perfect introduction
“I've played two games, two wins and a draw, but now I've settled in really well.
“The lads have been perfect for me and the coaching staff as well, so I’ve enjoyed it.”
2. Hopes of settling
“I'm used to it, being from Ireland, I moved over when I was young, and I haven't stopped moving since, so hopefully I can settle here for a bit and do well.”
3. A welcoming dressing room
“Even the lads I've never known, they've been perfect with me.
“We've got a good group there, and it should do as well for the season. They're a crazy bunch, I would say, but they're all top lads.”
4. Dealing with expectations
“I'm sort of used to it. When I was at Altrincham, I got a lot of hype and joining Peterborough (United), there was a lot of hype around me, so I'm just trying to keep a level head and just focus on my football.”
5. More to come
“I've got two goals, two assists, which is good, but I feel like I can affect the game a lot more.
“I'm still finding my fitness, and the training here is helping me with my fitness every day, so I'm still finding my feet.”
6. Reuniting with Regan Linney
“It's good to be back with him.
“Obviously, he's a great player, isn't he? But we had a great time at Altrincham together, and it's good to be back here with him.”
7. Formidable form
“Before I joined, the lads lost two games, and October was a massive month for the lads.
"Going on beating the whole month is unbelievable, and hopefully it may continue.”
8. Point to prove
“Coming from a League One club, I feel like I have that quality, and I want to prove myself against the League One opposition, so hopefully I can do well.”
“It's a good opportunity to make a statement against a League One club.”
9. Cup memories
“Oh, it's massive, isn't it?
“Last year we (Peterborough United) played Everton away, last ever season in Goodison (Park), and I got the start and played in 80 minutes, which was a wonderful, unbelievable experience for me.”
10. Impressive support
“We had a brilliant atmosphere against Forest Green at Brunton Park, that was class, that to be fair.
“I was buzzing with that it was good to get in front of a good crowd, and they're very passionate, and I feel like they've taken me very well, so I can't wait to play in front of them again.”
