After scoring a brilliant free-kick in our opening day victory against Woking FC, we spoke to Ethan Robson.
Speaking on the goal to CUTV, he said: "I'm delighted with the goal. I felt like last season I didn't get the chance to show the fans what I'm about with my injuries and I was unlucky at times but I've come back in good shape this pre-season and I'm raring to go."
Assessing pre-season further, the midfielder explained: "It's been tough but it's been a good chance to integrate the new lads in and we've been looking good and today I think we showed positive signs.
Robson came off the bench to double United's lead with a well-struck free-kick on 80 minutes.
"I think as football it can change pretty quick and you've got to always be ready and thankfully I got on the pitch today and contributed with a good goal.
"There was a few boys wanting it but once I got over it I knew I had a good chance of scoring and thankfully it went to the back of the net.
"It was amazing [running towards the away support to celebrate], you can't buy that feeling. To celebrate with the fans who came in their numbers was outstanding."
After joining the club last summer, yesterday's strike was Ethan's first goal for the club.
"As a footballer, there's ups and downs in the journey you go on. It's not easy but moments like that just make it all worthwhile."
Finally, on the fans, Robson said: "It's brilliant, it really keeps us going and gives us that extra 10%, especially going throughout the season we're going to need the support by the fans and they were brilliant today."
