CST EMPLOYER RECOGNITION SCHEME GOLD AWARD

.

Carlisle United Community Sports Trust are delighted to receive the Ministry of Defence's Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award, the highest accolade for employers supporting the Armed Forces community.

This recognition follows a progression from Bronze in 2018 to Silver in 2024, culminating in the receipt of the Gold Award in 2025.

CUFC CST's commitment includes weekly sessions for veterans on Wednesdays and Thursdays, offering exercise and social opportunities, as well as monthly breakfast meetings.

These initiatives help to assist veterans in transitioning to civilian life and foster community connections.

CUFC CST were also pivotal in organising Carlisle's Armed Forces Day 2025 at Brunton Park, bringing together 26 organisations to honour the Armed Forces community.

The ERS Gold Award is presented to employers that demonstrate exceptional support for Defence personnel, including offering additional paid leave for reservists and implementing supportive HR policies for veterans and their families.

Carlisle United Community Sports Trust CEO, James Tose said: "Everyone at Carlisle United Community Sports Trust is delighted to receive the 'Ministry of Defence Gold Employer Scheme Award' in recognition of the services and support we offer veterans in our community.

"I am immensely proud that Teresa Mulholland and Ryan Godderidge are getting the reward for their hard work, having created a safe space for our service veterans here at Carlisle United."

Carlisle United Community Sports Trust Director of Governance, Safeguarding, EDI and Veterans Co-ordinator, Teresa Mulholland added: "We are truly honoured to receive the Ministry of Defence Gold Employer Recognition Scheme award.

"This accolade reflects the dedication of our team, partners, and especially the veterans we support. From Bronze in 2018, to Silver in 2024, and now Gold in 2025, it's been an incredible journey.

"Our weekly veteran sessions, monthly breakfasts, and collaboration on Armed Forces Day 2025 all demonstrate the strength of our provision. Thank you to the Ministry of Defence for recognising our commitment."
