Carlisle United Football Club are delighted to confirm that midfielder Alfie McCalmont has today arrived from Leeds United on a half-season loan.
McCalmont, 22, spent the 2020/21 season on-loan with Oldham Athletic where he bagged 10 goals in 39 appearances.
After impressing at Boundary Park, he was rewarded with an international call-up by manager Ian Baraclough for fixtures against Malta and Ukraine.
He has appeared at every level for his country from under-17 upwards.
He stepped up to League One level last term where he netted once in 33 appearances with Morecambe.
He has played twice in the Carabao Cup with his parent club, along with a series of appearances in the EFL Trophy. He has been at Elland Road from the age of nine.
Manager Paul Simpson said: “I'm delighted that we've secured Alfie for the rest of the season.
"He's a quality footballer who will add good competition to the group.
"I'm looking forward to working with him over the coming weeks and months."
Alfie will wear squad number 35.
