Carlisle United can confirm that defender George Tanner has today joined Bristol City for an undisclosed fee on a three-year contract.
Tanner, 21, sparked a busy summer for the Blues two pre-seasons ago when he became the first signing of the August 2020 transfer window, joining the club on a two-year deal.
He made 48 appearances for the Cumbrians, scoring three goals along the way.
Blackpool-born Tanner joined Manchester United as a youngster before earning a place on their scholarship programme. He went on to sign his first professional contract with the Red Devils in January 2018.
He enjoyed a fruitful loan spell with Morecambe through the first half of the 2019/20 campaign where he made a total of 29 appearances in all competitions.
