CONTRACTS: Versatile defender signs short term deal

1 December 2016

Kevin Wright joins United for a month

Carlisle United have today signed versatile defender Kevin Wright on a short-term deal which keeps him at Brunton Park until 2 January 2017.

Wright, 21 at the end of this month, joined Premier League giants Chelsea when he was 10-years old and worked his way through the youth ranks to earn his first professional deal in the summer of 2013.

Manager Keith Curle said: “Kevin is another who brings something a little bit different to the mix. He’s looking to find his way in the game, having left Chelsea after a long time with them in the summer, and this is a chance for him to show people that he’s ready for this new challenge.

“We’ve liked the look of him through his time with us and he’s one we think well develop with the more time he gets in the first team environment. He’s enjoyed this period up in Carlisle and we’re looking forward to working with him more as we go on through this busy month.”
