Carlisle United fixture list released for the 2015/16 season
Carlisle United’s first leg of their mammoth 11,902 mile 2015/16 season road trip kicks off on day one of the new campaign – Saturday 8 August – with the 346.4 mile there-and-back journey to face Mansfield Town.
Capital One Cup first round action follows in midweek, when we host Mansfield’s neighbours Chesterfield, and the first home league game brings Cambridge United to Brunton Park on Saturday 15 August.
There’ll be no time to breathe following that one as the Cumbrians set off to undertake their longest away journey of the season (779.6 miles, no less!) – on a Tuesday night – when we travel to face Plymouth Argyle on 18 August.
Carlisle keep it local with trips to Hartlepool and York within the first ten games, but there’s another long Tuesday night away day to look forward at the end of September when we head to London to play Leyton Orient.
Northampton and Luton, in October and November respectively, make up a quartet of lengthy midweek away trips but the Christmas holiday period is one to look forward to as we head to Accrington on Boxing Day and host Hartlepool on festive Monday.
The campaign draws to a close with our last home fixture against Oxford United on Saturday 30 April and we end the action as it begins, on the road, when we travel to Meadow Lane and Notts County on Saturday 7 May.
