Open letter from Bournemouth
Below is an open letter from Jeff Mostyn, vice-chairman at AFC Bournemouth. Our thanks have been returned to Bournemouth for their hospitality and for the attitude shown towards our staff, officials, players and supporters on what was a good day for football.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, your fellow board members and all your travelling supporters for the respect shown to our staff, players and supporters during our post match celebrations following last Saturday's match.
Given all the recent controversy surrounding crowd disturbances around the country, your supporters deserve the highest credit for their exemplary behavior before, during and after the match. I have received so many compliments from supporters and stewards alike that I had to put pen to paper.
Saturday was a memorable day in our clubs history, winning promotion to the Championship. Your supporters made it even more memorable by joining in the after match celebrations with such enthusiasm.
The travelling Smurfs will always be remembered fondly and will always be made most welcome in the future.
Please convey my thanks and those of my fellow directors, staff and supporters to everyone who made the long journey south on Saturday, they made a special day, memorable.
With my kindest regards and best wishes for the future,
