Son of former United midfielder, Tony Hopper, Dan joined the Blues Academy as a U15, going on to sign a scholarship in 2023, which was extended at the end of the 2024/25 season.

The attacking midfielder made his first-team debut in the EFL Trophy against Wigan Athletic last season and has experienced loan spells with Penrith AFC, Workington AFC, and Darlington.
