Freddie O’Donoghue is an exciting young forward who joined Carlisle United’s Academy in March 2023 after making a strong impression with Peel AFC on the Isle of Man. Since arriving at Brunton Park, Freddie has shown outstanding progress both technically and mentally, quickly establishing himself as a standout.

He made his senior debut in September 2024 in the EFL Trophy and scored his first goal for the club in memorable fashion just weeks later - netting with his first touch in a comeback win away at Morecambe. That strike made him the third-youngest goalscorer in our history, underlining his potential on the big stage.

A quick and intelligent attacker with an eye for goal, Freddie plays with maturity beyond his years. His hard work and attitude were rewarded with a contract extension in March 2025, before he joined Queen of the South on loan.
