Head Coach Rob Elliot wants Carlisle United to turn their attacking performances into wins when they host Tamworth in the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday.
United were held to a frustrating draw by Kidderminster Harriers last time out and Elliot wants his side to show greater intensity from the start at Brunton Park.
The Blues boss believes his side need to take control of games and make better use of their attacking threat.
He said: "I think we need to make sure that we understand the structure, but we now take the momentum to opposition, be more front-footed.
"I think that was the only disappointing thing for Saturday, for me, was that it took us to the second half to create that tempo and energy in terms of our running.
"We need to be more ruthless. Our quality in the final third at times can be better. Our decision-making can be better."
United have created plenty of chances throughout the campaign but have struggled to convert those opportunities into victories at Brunton Park.
Elliot believes the team have shown improvements defensively in recent weeks, but knows they must now become more clinical in front of goal.
"We've had the most touches in opposition boxes, we've had the most shots, we've had the most crosses, we've had the most box entries, all the things that you want to hit from an attacking team and the pressing side of it.
"But we've got to convert those because if you don't, then obviously goals change games and that's the biggest thing.
"We're here to thrive. We're here to push the team forward and push the players forward and making sure we're taking every game to anyone we play."
Attention now turns to the Emirates FA Cup, with the Lambs standing between United and a place in the first round proper.
Elliot recognises the opportunity a cup run could provide for the club and its supporters, but insists his side must focus on overcoming Saturday's opponents before looking any further ahead.
"It's a good opportunity for us to get ourselves into the first round.
"You've got to beat what's in front of you and Tamworth will come. They'll have a game plan, they'll be difficult to beat, and we've got to make sure we match that and make sure that we're able to put in a performance, get the result.
"We're not here to sit back and try to survive. We're here to thrive."
