Head Coach Rob Elliot wants his Carlisle United side to continue building momentum against Aldershot Town, leading on from Tuesday’s victory over AFC Fylde.
United head into Saturday’s game having picked up their first clean sheet of the season on Tuesday night, with Elliot hoping that it can continue in Hampshire.
The Blues’ head coach believes that Tuesday’s success could be crucial moving forward.
Elliot said: “We want it to back up that result and get back-to-back away wins this week.
“I think getting the clean sheet, getting the performance, putting it all together probably is massive.
“That's the first thing for me with the players, is making sure we're switched on, making sure that we're mentally ready to go into the battle.”
United completed the loan signing of Tom Anderson from Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday, with the defender in the squad for the victory against Fylde, and Elliot believes that the 33-year-old has an important part to play in the squad.
“He's only been with us a few days, but he's a proper man, proper pro, his voice was really important on Tuesday night.
“It's great to have his experience, his leadership, and he'll be there to help us on the pitch as well.
“He's a really good footballer, he's a proper defender,” Elliot added.
The Blues travel to the EBB Stadium to face an in-form Aldershot side, and United’s head coach is aware of the threat that they pose.
“Aldershot have got two very good wingers, who are very exciting, powerful and quick.
“They've had some good results, and they sit in the table where they deserve to be.
“I know it's going to be a tough game, a good atmosphere, and for me, it's bringing that mentality again to win,” he explained.
