REGAN LINNEY: "THIS IS ONLY THE START NOW."

.

Attacker Regan Linney hopes Carlisle United can continue their recent upturn in form when they host Kidderminster Harriers at Brunton Park on Saturday.

The Blues have picked up back-to-back victories at AFC Fylde and Aldershot Town, with Linney believing the six points have lifted the mood within the squad and provided a platform to build momentum.

He has also been working his way back to full fitness after illness disrupted his start to the campaign, but is confident he is moving in the right direction.

He said: "I feel like it's been a bit of a tough start for us, all as a club. But again, it's just time to change that now.

"I feel like we've won the last two, so we can start picking up momentum now and getting a bit of a run.

"I'm not where I really want to be, but I know I'm getting there now."

Linney thinks the recent results have been important for the players, Head Coach Rob Elliot and the supporters, but insists United must now build on their progress.

The forward feels the squad have shown togetherness during a difficult period and is confident there is more to come as they adapt to Elliot's approach.

"I feel like we've turned a little corner now. Before then, everything was a bit doom and gloom, but I feel like we've turned a corner now.

"We did it not just for ourselves, but for the gaffer as well and for the fans. I feel like all the boys have dug deep and come together and put on a few good performances.

"But this is only the start now. I think there's a lot more to come and I'm sure there will be."

Linney has enjoyed the opportunity to operate alongside David Ajiboye in a forward pairing and is happy to contribute wherever he is needed.

The forward also believes the experience within the squad can help the younger players handle the expectations that come with playing for United.

Attention now turns to Kiddy, with Linney confident the Blues have enough quality to secure another positive result and continue climbing the table.

"I'm sure if we're on it, we'll have enough to beat them.

"If you pick up four or five wins in a row, three or four or whatever it is, I feel like you end up shooting straight up the table in this league.

"It's a tough league, but we're more than capable of getting results week in, week out."
