Micah Obiero says Carlisle United's ambition made the decision to join the club an easy one after completing a permanent move from Wealdstone to Brunton Park.
The forward has signed a two-year deal with the Blues, returning to Cumbria after a previous loan spell during the 2020/21 season.
Having impressed during his time with the Stones, Obiero arrives with plenty of Enterprise National League experience and believes United is the perfect place for the next stage of his development.
He said: "I'm really happy now that it's over the line; I'm delighted.
"You know, this is a big club with big ambitions, so I'm just happy to be in the building.
"As soon as I heard about it, I was delighted because it's a big club, so I thought it was on the right trajectory of my career to come here."
The 24-year-old scored regularly during his spell at Grosvenor Vale and believes his all-round game has developed significantly over the last few seasons.
Obiero feels his versatility and work rate will allow him to make a positive contribution to Head Coach Rob Elliot's side.
"I think I can mix it up; I can obviously stretch it in behind.
"And also drop in, and I can score goals, and even if I'm not scoring I can create things, even if it's not an assist I can still make things tick.
"Also bring a great work ethic, so I can run off and on."
The Blues entered the season expecting to challenge at the top end of the table, and Obiero is relishing the opportunity to be part of that journey.
While acknowledging the pressure that comes with representing a club of United's stature, the forward believes maintaining the right mentality will be key over the course of the campaign.
"It comes with a certain level of pressure as well, and I think if you take each game as it is and try to win them, then by the end of the season you'll be up there.
"You know there's a big expectation in the club to get out of this league, but I think that comes from within and a certain mentality within the club.
"Every week, every game is an important game; you know you can't put your foot off the brake in this league because it'll catch up to you."
Obiero is also looking forward to experiencing Brunton Park in front of a full crowd after his previous spell at the club came during the COVID-19 pandemic.
And he hopes he can quickly make an impact in front of the United supporters.
"I'm really looking forward to it. Last time I was here, it was COVID, so I didn't get to experience the crowd.
"But I've played here quite a few times, and what really excites me is to play in front of a big crowd; you know, we get a lot of numbers here.
"So I just can't wait to make my debut in front of the fans and hopefully gift them with three points."
