Carlisle United are looking to strengthen fan engagement, commercial partnerships, and community connections following changes within the Marketing and Media department.
A key part of the changes sees Tom Little join the club at the end of the month in the new role of Head of Marketing and Media. He brings experience from CN Group and Cumberland Building Society.
Recruitment is also ongoing for a second Marketing and Media Officer to work alongside James Gates, who recently stepped into this role after joining the club in February 2024.
The refreshed team will continue to deliver matchday coverage, engagement and insight into club developments, whilst providing stronger support to retail and commercial operations, and improved marketing support across the whole club.
The revamp also introduces exciting new internship opportunities within the Marketing and Media department, which will see them work alongside current full-time staff and existing matchday media interns. This provides the perfect opportunity for university students or aspiring creators to gain hands-on experience in the industry.
The roles available are:
Academy Social Media
We are looking for someone to manage our Academy account on 'X' on matchdays - this is a unique opportunity to make the channels your own working mostly with our under-19s team.
Whether it’s pre-game content, in-game updates or post-match interviews, we want someone who can bring the Academy matchday to life and showcase the players' personalities, whilst also shining a light on who could be the first team's next big star.
It will consist of covering Saturday morning fixtures home and away, with occasional midweek evening matches also included. You will be able to travel to away fixtures with the team.
Academy Photographer
We are seeking an Academy Photographer to capture the action on a matchday. From in-game shots to passionate celebrations, this is a great chance for someone to help elevate the under-19s' coverage.
This role will consist of covering Saturday morning home fixtures and ideally local away games, with occasional midweek evening matches also included.
It’s a brilliant chance to build a football photography portfolio and contribute to the club’s Academy coverage as we look to take it to the next level.
Scoreboard Operator
We are searching for a reliable individual to operate the stadium scoreboard during home matches at Brunton Park. Duties include updating the score, match clock, and key messaging in real time.
Candidates must have the ability to stay focused under pressure. Arrival is required at least two hours before kick-off for setup and checks.
This is perfect for those looking to gain experience in live sports operations. Training for this role will also be provided.
Matchday Social Media Creator
We are on the lookout for a creative intern to capture short-form matchday content at Brunton Park, focusing mostly on Instagram stories and other mobile-first formats. Tasks include filming short behind-the-scenes clips, fan reactions and key moments.
Applicants should have a strong understanding of football, a good eye for creative engaging content, and confidence using a smartphone on platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
This is a great chance for someone to develop their skills and experience in the sporting industry, working alongside our first team at home fixtures.
