Ahead of the upcoming trip to Tamworth, we caught up with Head Coach Mark Hughes.
Speaking to CUTV, Hughes reflected on the mentality within the squad, managing the demands of a busy schedule and preparing for a challenging away fixture.
Here is everything we learnt:
1. A points total milestone
“A good total. It obviously wasn't a number (2004/05 promotion-winning season points total) that we were trying to strive to beat at any stage.
"We're still very much in the mindset that we've got to get as many points as we can, so we've passed some kind of milestone, but our focus is still on picking up as many points as we can from now to the end of the season.”
2. Turning the mentality around
“When I came in, there was a period where the team was struggling.
"We tried to turn things around quickly, and although we weren't able to stay in the league, we needed to get back to winning ways, and we've worked hard to do that.”
3. From hoping to expecting wins
“We've been consistent in our messaging and making people understand their responsibilities at this level.
"The lads have embraced that, and now we're winning games and expecting to win games rather than hoping.”
4. Momentum in the run-in
“For the most part, we've had momentum. We've won five out of the last seven, which would suggest momentum is okay.
"We've got nine games to go, and we'll see how far we can go.”
5. Creative quality returning
“It was important to get Chris Conn-Clarke involved because he'd missed a few games.
"He delivered two great balls for the goals, and that's what he gives you with his quality on the ball.”
6. Managing the physical demands
“Some of the lads didn't get home until after four o'clock after the last trip, so there are a few bumps and bruises, but we'll assess them and make sure everyone is ready.”
7. Developing younger players
“We've been pleased with Hugh Parker. He's a good young player, he's got energy, and you can see the potential he has when he comes on.”
8. Travelling support once again
“Nearly 600 fans travelling is brilliant. We're always really pleased with the support we get, and hopefully we can give them something to enjoy at the weekend.”
