COMMUNITY SPORTS TRUST SUPPORT WORLD KINDNESS DAY

World Kindness day

Carlisle United Community Sports Trust were delighted to support the Cumberland and Fairshare's Kinder Kind of Kitchen project yesterday, as part of World Kindness Day.

Members of the Community Sports Trust dropped off food donations at the inspiring initiative in Carlisle city centre yesterday afternoon.

The key aim of the event was to boost donations for food banks and related projects within the city.

The project was set up by the Cumberland in partnership with Fairshare Lancashire and Cumbria in June 2023, aiming to tackle food poverty.

Yesterday's event allowed members of the public to support local food projects with an act of kindness, whether that be a donation to the local foodbank, a donation to the Cumberland's festive selection box fundraising page, or volunteering some hours to help the local community. In exchange for this, the public could enjoy a sweet waffle, or a delicious slice of pizza.

As a football club, we regularly support food bank collections in the city as part of our match day schedules, and our support to yesterday's event confirmed our unwavering efforts to tackle food poverty within the city.

Our next food bank collection will take place at the Tamworth home fixture on Saturday 29th November - donations for this can be dropped off at the EDI gazebo from 12pm on this day.

Director of Governance, Safeguarding and EDI, Teresa Mulholland said about the event: “We are proud to support our local foodbank and give something back to the community that gives us so much. Football is all about coming together — and by helping those who need it most, we can show that the spirit of the game goes way beyond match day.”
