COMMUNITY CHAMPION 2024/25

Aaron Hayden has been named by Carlisle United Community Sports Trust as the PFA Community Champion for the 2024/25 season.

Since re-joining the Blues last summer, the defender has attended a wide range of community initiatives, showing fantastic enthusiasm to engage with fans, young and old.

He attended the first soccer school of last summer in Wigton, handing out the awards, and dropped into Northbank Under-8s Girls' Community Ticket Scheme visit in December.

In March, Aaron was present at the 'Show Racism the Red Card' event for a question-and-answer session with children from local primary schools, to help educate the next generation about the effects of racism.

He even took the time to meet CUFC CST's Premier League Community Captain Declan McArdle and hand him his award.

Due to his impressive community outreach, he was presented with his trophy by the CST's CEO James Tose.

Aaron Hayden said: "I am proud to receive this award.

"The community will always be the heartbeat of Carlisle as a city, and it is so important that the club stays connected to the surrounding area.

"It is always nice to give back in any way we can and meet so many young fans in the process."

James Tose added: "We are delighted to recognise Aaron's community work this season with him being announced as our 'Community Champion' for 2024/25.

"Aaron visited various projects and engaged with enthusiasm at every visit.

"The importance and power of player visits in our community can never be underestimated, and we are delighted to give Aaron this award."
