Brad Nicholson picked up an assist as Carlisle United grabbed a point in a 1-1 draw at Yeovil Town and urged fans to keep believing.
The defender played his first 90 minutes for the Blues and delivered a pinpoint cross for Harvey Bunker to head home and salvage a result in Somerset.
Having arrived in the summer, Nicholson is still settling in at United alongside several others and believes there are better days ahead for the team.
He said: "I loved it. Fans were great, sang from minute one to minute 90.
"I just ask that they stick with us, there's going to be tough times, there's going to be highs, there's going to be lows.
"Just stick with us through it all and there'll be a positive outcome come the end of the season."
Chances were few and far between for the Blues despite plenty of possession, and the challenge of breaking down the Glovers defence was made harder when Joe Gubbins was sent off for the hosts.
This saw Billy Rowley's side tighten up further, going to a back five, but Nicholson hopes finding a way to a late equaliser can spur the group on.
"I think it's difficult when a team goes down to 10 anyway because they sit off.
"They don't press; they just bank up in numbers. But I think that shows the heart from the lads to get that goal at the end.
"Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to go push for a second, but hopefully that's a turning point, and we can push on next week."
United welcome Hornchurch to Brunton Park next Saturday, who have won their opening two games, but Nicholson can see a positive result coming if the Blues can fully execute the game plan.
"Hornchurch have started really well. I think they've won today at Barrow, so there won't be no pushovers.
"Everyone obviously comes to Carlisle; they get an extra 10 yards in the running, and that's just how it is. It's everyone's biggest day.
"But if we stick to our principles, stick to what the gaffer wants us to do, then there'll be no problems."
