8 MAY 1999: The day a keeper made history

The last kick of the season saved United from relegation

8 May 2022

It was a moment that wrote itself into football folklore.

The 1998/99 season boiled down to a final day shootout between United and Scarborough as to who would face the dreaded drop into the Conference.

We all know the story, so sit back and listen to three of the main protagonists - Graham Anthony (who took the corner), David Brightwell (who scored United's first goal on the day) and, of course, Mr Glass ... and also have a look at the goals from the day.
