Carlisle United’s academy coaching staff held a CPD event at Caldew School, Dalston on Saturday where they were given some fantastic insights and tips by ex-England rugby head coach Brian Ashton and the FA’s youth development coach Graham Carrick.
Head of academy coaching Dave Wilkes said: “It was a really worthwhile event and I know our coaches took a lot from it.
“I’d like to thank Brian and Graham for taking time to come along. I think, when you’re talking about coaching practices and development of yourself as a coach and as an individual, it always resonates more when it comes from people who are talking about their experiences and who are giving you their time as they share their knowledge.
“As coaches within the academy we are always looking for ways to improve and change, and events like this can only serve to help with that.
"A whole range of coaching matters were covered and there are things we will all be able to take forward from it.”
