SEASON TICKET UPDATE: The phones and ticket office have been busy

12 April 2017

Update after the first day of Season Ticket sales

The first day of 2017/18 Season Ticket sales has seen plenty of activity at Brunton Park with nothing but positive feedback for the new pricing structure which could bring savings of up to £228 for fans who stand on the terraces and savings of up to £182 for our seated supporters.

Sales and marketing director Phil King said: “It was great to be able to speak to people face-to-face at the Open Day on Tuesday to get their reaction to the information we’d released earlier in the week.

“We had fans who told us they hadn’t purchased a Season Ticket before but they would be for the first time next season because the new pricing structure had persuaded them it was something worth doing.

“The phones and ticket office have been busy all day and the indications are that the targets we’ve set on our sliding scale of terraced prices are well within reach. It’s probably worth a reminder to existing Season Ticket holders in our seated areas that they can purchase their current seat up to 5 May. We expect it to be busy over the course of the next few weeks with Season Ticket sales so we advise people to do that as soon as they possibly can.”

Among the first to pledge their support for the new Season Ticket pricing structure were Stanwix-based father and son supporters David and Jak Graham, who can be found in the Pioneer Foodservice Stand come 3pm on a match day.

“I think the new prices are a brilliant idea,” he said. “I prefer getting Season Tickets anyway because they make the match day so easy. Your ticket is there and you don’t have to worry about it at all once it’s in your hand at the start of the season.

“The club caters for everybody when it comes to getting them because you can either pay up front or spread the payments by direct debit. I have to say that’s fantastic for people, because it makes it feel even more affordable.”

“With the new prices for terracing and seated season tickets it really is sending a positive message to the fans,” he continued. “Hopefully there’ll be a big response and we’ll start to see a lot of new supporters enjoying their support of the club with a Season Ticket as well.

“I come with my son Jak [8-years-old] and he’s hooked now. It’s been his first season following the club and he’s been made to feel really welcome. He’s met the players on a number of occasions and there aren’t too many clubs who are as family orientated as ours, from what I’ve seen.

“His Season Ticket cost us just £10 and that’s absolutely amazing. To get your child in for that price is a huge saving. He gets excited about the fact he’s going to games a good few days before and that’s what it’s all about when it comes down to it.

“I’ve recently gone on Twitter and I’ve told a number of players that this club really has got it right when it comes to dealing with families and giving open access to the fans. Everybody who works here will stop and talk to you, however busy they are, and they take things on board. I mentioned a few times that it would be a good idea to do stadium tours and it was fantastic to see them being done at the Open Day on Tuesday.”

As for Jak, he confirmed that coming to Brunton Park is right up there with his favourite things to do in life.

“It’s just great!” he said.

Well ... that will do for us.
