BIG MATCH PREVIEW: Notts County

6 April 2017

Everything you need to know ahead of the weekend home fixture

United play host to the Magpies on Saturday with confidence high following a solid display and a welcome three points at Huish Park last weekend.

Manager Keith Curle said: “The important thing now is to make sure we use the performance against Yeovil as a building block for what we want to achieve through the last six games of the season.

“Notts County will come here in high spirits following their recent run of results. They’ve got good attacking options at the moment but we know we have absolutely nothing to fear if we do our jobs properly on the day.

“We’ve given ourselves a springboard and it’s up to us to kick on and get the job done.”

Adam Collin match worn gloves – Hopper Fund Prize Draw

Former-Blues and Workington keeper Adam Collin returns to Brunton Park with Notts County this weekend and he has cast aside team rivalries to support his friend and ex-team mate Tony Hopper as he looks to raise vital funds for Motor Neuron Disease research.

Big Ad, as he’s known round these parts, will be donating his match shirt and gloves [all items signed] from the game, for a prize draw, with tickets available from our sellers around the ground on the day [please note, draw tickets are available NOW from the Ticket Office and from the Blues Store].

United keepers Mark Gillespie and Max Crocombe will also be donating their signed match day gloves for this fantastic prize draw!

Adam Collin said: “As soon as I heard that Tony had been diagnosed with MND I wanted to do something to help. The signed match shirt is going to go up for auction [details to follow] with the gloves included as part of this weekend’s prize draw.

“It’s no surprise at all that Mark and Max have donated their gloves because they’re both great lads and I know they want to help Tony as much as I do.

“I would also like to thank Ewan [Wood] from the Lottery Department because he has donated a signed Carlisle United shirt as well, which is fantastic.

“Hopefully the draw will raise a nice sum of money for the MNDA.”

Prize Draw prizes:

+ Match day keeper gloves signed by Adam Collin
+ Match day keeper gloves signed by Max Crocombe
+ Match day keeper gloves signed by Mark Gillespie
+ Match day shirt signed by this season's Carlisle United squad

Tickets cost only £1 – please support this fantastic cause.

Tickets will be on sale for this prize draw at our Open Door event on Tuesday 11 April, with the draw taking place on Wednesday 12 April.

CUSG chairman Simon Clarkson has asked for volunteers to help to sell tickets for this draw on Saturday. If you can spare some of your time for this great cause please meet at the West Stand Main Reception at 1.30pm on the day, where you will be given tickets to sell and an area of the ground to cover.

Prostate Cancer Awareness Campaign

Prostate Cancer UK thank Carlisle United and their supporters for helping to raise over £2m to help stop prostate cancer being a killer.

This weekend is our official Prostate Cancer Awareness fixture.

Since Prostate Cancer UK’s Official Charity Partnership with The EFL (formerly The Football League) was announced back in 2012 the charity has raised over £2m to help stop prostate cancer being a killer, and raised the profile of a disease not really spoken about.

Clubs and fans from across the EFL have walked, run, cycled, collected at match days and donated in the fight against prostate cancer.

Over four years nearly 800 fans have put on the pitch rivalries aside cycling to Amsterdam with former England internationals Terry Butcher, Viv Anderson and Luther Blissett – who has joined the ride every year.

And back in March 2016, it was difficult to ignore Sky Sports presenter Jeff Stelling marching 262 miles to Wembley from his beloved Hartlepool United to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

Have a great day!

Shaun Miller got our winner against the Chairboys, with Luke Joyce and Mike Jones going in the book, and goals from Jason Kennedy and Reggie Lambe complemented a Wyke hat-trick, with Brisley and Kennedy the names taken on the day, as we beat the Stags by 5-2.
