Striker Max Brown scored for United but the damage was done early as a strong Morecambe outfit took a two-goal lead.The Cumbrians worked hard but the young Shrimps scored again from the spot to secure their 3-1 victory.
Youth boss Darren Edmondson said: "It was a very competitive game, which is pleasing. We lost the ball in silly areas early on, which made it difficult, and there was some doubt over the penalty which gave them their third goal.
"Overall we were beaten by a stronger team and the five schoolboys who finished for us have had a great experience."
