Keith Curle on the growing relationship with the fansManager Keith Curle spoke more about the impact the fans can have at Brunton Park as he looked back on a very good weekend for the club.
“I have to say, the crowd were phenomenal on Saturday,” he said. “We had just under 7,500 here and that tells me the public are starting to take notice. I have to say a massive thank you to the people who come regularly because they have backed us all the way through what we’ve been doing.
“I also have to thank the local media outlets because they have helped to spread the word and I think everybody has to be buzzing because there is definitely something here.
“It’s also a huge thank you to those who came for the first time. They’ve bought into the messages they’ve heard and I hope they’ve seen enough to make them want to come back and get on board with this journey we’re looking to take.”
“I have to say - they’re a noisy bunch these Cumbrians!” he continued. “I’m enjoying the relationship we’re building with them and I’m in a situation where I really look forward to coming to the football club. There’s a lot of hard work going on behind the scenes and everybody is getting a little bit of a spring in their step.
“We’re trying to create an environment where the supporters know they’re going to get value for money. The absolute minimum they’ll get from us is effort, application, desire and a willingness to win.”
“As I say, hopefully those who watched us for the first time on Saturday will feel that they need to come again, because this is what it’s been like. Those who’ve been here have spread the word and we need to keep everybody with us now. Putting on performances like that will help.
“The question now has to be – what are you doing on a Saturday afternoon? If you’re not coming to Brunton Park, why not, because there’s a very good game of football to watch.”
