Everything you need to know ahead of the weekend fixture
United will equal another club record if they remain unbeaten on Saturday and, with confidence levels high, there aren’t too many who will bet against that being the case.Hartlepool United are our derby-day rivals and there’s little doubt it’s a game that both sets of supporters are looking forward to.
The manager has already asked for as many people as possible to come along to support the lads as they continue to focus on the job in hand.
He said: “People are obviously talking about the unbeaten record, and we are very proud to have achieved that, but the incentive for these players is the three points on offer for each game. Club records and milestones are a welcome bonus, but it is all about making sure that things are done properly every day as far as this group is concerned.
“The focus within the dressing room is fantastic because they know they have to take every opposition on its own merits. There are good habits in the group now and even when the football isn’t the prettiest on the eye we still get our jobs done.
“That’s because we believe we’re going to win games. Even when we were getting draws there was an inner belief that we weren’t too far away from turning them into three points. There’s a lot of confidence and that has been coupled with a determination that we think will help us to keep the run going.”

Since 1993, Kick It Out has worked throughout the football, educational and community sectors to challenge discrimination, encourage inclusive practices and campaign for positive change.
Throughout the 2016/17 season, Kick It Out is running an initiative – Call Full Time On Hate – which aims to utilise and engage the collective force of football to tackle discrimination and hate incidents at every level of the game. The initiative also seeks to highlight the positive messages of inclusion echoed by the football authorities, clubs, players, managers and supporters’ groups.
Carlisle United are fully behind #CallFullTimeOnHate and in addition to its support in the programme today, the club will be supporting the initiative on social media, as well as through Kick It Out resources such as posters and t-shirts inside Brunton Park.

Our match referee this weekend is Mr Darren Bond.
Mr Bond has taken charge of ten games so far this season and has shown 29 yellow cards and three reds.
His last trip to Brunton Park was for our ... stand by ... 1-0 victory over Hartlepool back in April. Hallam Hope scored the only goal of the game on 55 minutes and there were no United names taken on the day.
He was also with us for our home-away fixture at Deepdale shortly after Storm Desmond struck when we beat Notts County in an impressive 3-0 display. Danny Grainger and Jabo Ibehre (2) scored the goals and Charlie Wyke was the only name taken.
