Keith Curle on Jabo Ibehre and Joe McKee
Manager Keith Curle confirmed today that striker Jabo Ibehre, who picked up an injury when he came off the bench at Grimsby, is close to a return as he continues to work closely with the medical staff.“Jabo was in with the fans and at the game to watch us at Luton on Saturday,” he said. “He’s feeling much brighter and he’s getting closer to being back with us every day.
“We’re coming into a period with him now where it’s down to risk assessment. That’s been left to Dolly and Lee Fearn and I completely back the advice they give me. The more work he does with them the closer he will get to being back and firing on all cylinders for us.”
And on the absence of midfielder Joe McKee at the weekend, he said: “He’s been diagnosed with a grade one tear of his hamstring. That means he will potentially miss two to three weeks.
“That can seem a long time, but when you’re playing Saturday-Saturday fixtures it can go quite quickly. Hopefully he will rest well and we’ll then get him back in good time.”
Meanwhile defender Danny Grainger and midfielder Mike Jones are waiting for the outcome of medical assessments following knocks they received at Kenilworth Road at the weekend.
