CUSG donation helps purchase GoPro cameras
Carlisle United Supporters' Groups [CUSG] recently donated £1,000 to the club to help with fan or community projects and, following discussions with the Media Department, some brand new GoPro equipment was purchased to help with digital coverage across all of the club platforms.
CUSG raised funds via the sale of almost 1,000 pin badges - a few of which remain for sale in the Blues Store.
The equipment, which has been used to capture Charlie Wyke's first ever league hat-trick from behind the goal, some heart warming moments with our mascots and fan reaction at the Grimsby away game, has enabled us to extend our coverage on YouTube and United PlayerHD with significant increased views and hits already recorded.
Simon Clarkson, chairman of CUSG, said: "The Supporters Groups that make up our collaboration also raise funds for CUSG, with the most recent donation being from the London Branch 40 Club.
"Whilst our priority for this season is enhancing the facilities for disabled fans, we also wanted to make a donation to Carlisle United that would benefit the wider fan base.
"We asked the club to consider this request when spending the donation of £1,000 and we are delighted that the GoPro equipment has been purchased.
"We have already seen the added dimension that these small cameras can give and I'm sure the fans are enjoying the clips of goals, mascots and fan's views of games. I know there are plenty more new exciting clips that the Media Department are looking to film that will give us fans an insight into aspects of the club they wouldn't normally get to watch. That is something, as fans, we can really look forward to seeing."
