Newcastle United defender Macaulay Gillesphey on his loan move
Newcastle United defender Macaulay Gillesphey spoke to us about what he wants from his move to Brunton Park."I think it's a great opportunity for us," he said. "We'll get some first team experience instead of playing under-21 football. I think it will be a challenge because it will be more physical at League Two level.
"I do get a bit nervous before things like this so it was good to know I had Alex [Gilliead] coming with me because I obviously know him well."
"As I say, I think the players will be more physical that we come up against so it will be a different type of test," he continued. "Judging by what people have said about the way we're going to play we should be able to handle that, because we play proper football.
"Peter Beardsley said it would be a great opportunity for us to come out and get some first team football. It's a good challenge and we're at a stage where we need that."
"The style of play Carlisle have should suit me," he told us. "I'm more of a left-sided player and I like to play out from the back. I'd describe myself as a ball playing defender. I like to think I've got a good left foot.
